North Coast Ceramics (NCC) is a vibrant community of professional ceramic artists living and working along the stunning North Coast of New South Wales.
Dedicated to promoting and sustaining the art of ceramics, NCC offers members valuable opportunities to connect with the public, exhibit their work, and grow their artistic practices.
NCC hosts three-four major annual events: the NCC Award exhibition (January), an Easter Ceramic Market (March/ April), the celebrated Mud Trail (August), now in its thirteenth year, which opens studios to visitors, and the Pre-Christmas Ceramic Market (November).
Alongside these events, NCC supports members and the public with professional development programs and exhibition opportunities year-round, fostering a thriving community passionate about clay and creativity.
NCC Membership
North Coast Ceramics (NCC) is the peak body for ceramics in the Northern Rivers, representing professional and semi-professional ceramicists committed to excellence in their craft. Our rigorous membership criteria ensure that the public can trust they are purchasing from educated, experienced, and professional ceramic artists.
For just $50 per year you can become an NCC member and gain your own dedicated space on this website. Membership is valid from 1st January to 31st December each year and is open to ceramicists with studios located in the Byron, Ballina, or Lismore shires.
To apply, please complete the membership form, ensuring you have all required information ready before you begin. Your application will be reviewed by the NCC committee, and you will be notified once a decision is made. Membership fees are payable upon approval.
Applications are assessed individually on merit, but please note that NCC is a volunteer-run organisation led by practising artists. As a result, response times may vary depending on committee availability. However, all applicants will receive feedback as part of the process.
Building Community Through Creativity
At NCC, we believe in fostering grass-roots connections and meaningful conversations across our diverse community. At the heart of our identity is our logo—a simple, timeless bowl. A bowl is more than just an object; it is a symbol of holding and giving. NCC embraces this spirit, holding space for creativity, community, and respect for place.
Giving Back
NCC proudly supports two local charities:
Federal Loves Refugees
Country Women’s Association (Bangalow Branch)
At our two annual markets, members create and donate handcrafted bowls, which are sold to raise funds for these causes. 100% of proceeds go directly to charity, transforming each purchase into an act of generosity. This initiative reflects the values of our region—community, inclusivity, and giving back.
Our Commitment to the Arts
We believe the arts are essential to a healthy, connected community. Through our work, we aim to not only celebrate ceramics but also inspire mindful action and support those in need.
Join us in shaping a community where creativity and generosity go hand in hand.
