Celebrating Ceramic Excellence: The 2025 NCC Award
The Mullumbimby Civic Hall was buzzing Saturday 25th Jan with the Opening of the North Coast Ceramics Award and Exhibition.
The judge, Professor Pedram Khosronejad, Curator, Exhibition and Collections at Grafton Regional Gallery, was impressed with the standard and diversity of the work presented.
He decided to split the First Prize and award it jointly to: Louise Fulton for her haunting wall plaque "Wollongbar" and Gloria Malone for her translucent porcelain bowl, "Luminescence".
Second Prize went to Claudia Gyr for "Out of the Black", an exquisite black piece showing the subtlety that can be achieved in ceramics without glaze, while Jude Muduioa won Best Emerging Artist with her brave raku fired rings "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained". Pedram also made Special Mention of Jooyun Lim for a "River Runs Between Us".
North Coast Ceramics (the people who bring you the Mud Trail) would like to thank the Sponsors, Henry and Cecilia Foundation and Fired Up Kilns and all the entrants into the Award.
