Heather creates functional forms using both wheel thrown and hand built methods, embellishing their surfaces with illustration, text, markings and colour. Her pieces are a reflection of “life’s poetry”- Those things in life that add a layer of richness to everyday moments.
For her some of these things are the joy of growing flowers and plants, and living in nature; The feminine expression and sisterhood; A passage of poetry or literature that articulates the subtleties of a feeling or experience; And patterns and symbols that evoke feelings of decadence and mystique.
