MAX McAULEY
When Max discovered his love for clay, he won a grant to establish his business ‘Pottery to the Max’. and started his ceramics career in 2013. He received individual coaching sessions with Mitra, a local ceramicist learning new techniques.
In 2016 Max bought his own kiln and continued working with Claudia, another local ceramicist to further support his creative exploration with clay.
Since then, Max has dedicated 2 days a week to creating new pieces, working alongside Claudia in her studio near Mullumbimby and he continues to explore new possibilities. All his pieces are functional but each one is individually designed.
When Max doesn’t have his hands in clay, he is a principal dancer with Sprung! Integrated Dance Theatre Company and has performed all around Australia.
Max has participated in several group ceramics exhibitions with RedInc and more recently through the NCC at M-Arts in Murwillumbah (2019/2020) and 2021 at ‘Quilla Design Emporium’ in Mooball.
His work is available through shops in Mullumbimby, Byron Bay and Sydney.
