Richard Jones - Rainforest Ceramics

Richard Jones first began learning pottery in 1975 at Newport on Sydney’s northern beaches. However, his focus soon shifted to starting a business, joining Project Jonah’s Save the Whale campaign, founding Greenpeace Australia, and publishing and editing Simply Living magazine. He later spent fifteen years serving in the New South Wales Parliament as a Member of the Legislative Council.

After leaving Parliament, Richard turned his attention to regenerating the rainforest at Possum Creek, where his studio is now located. He has been working as a full-time ceramicist since 2007.
