Sasa Scheiner
Sasa Scheiner draws deep inspiration from the ocean and rock formations. The primordial textures and surfaces in her ceramic work emerge from a process of research and playful experimentation with various aggregates and ash glazes. She works with both light and dark clays to create subtle variations in palette and tone.
Nature’s raw beauty is a constant theme that flows through her practice. Her pieces are both sculptural and functional, designed to bring art into everyday life.
Sasa’s work is held in private collections across South Africa, England, and Australia, including in the collections of Parliament House in Canberra and the Ceramic Department at Brookvale TAFE on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
