Susanne Fraser
Susanne Fraser is an award-winning Australian ceramic artist whose practice spans several decades and continents. Based in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Susanne is known for her expressive and evocative ceramic forms that often explore themes of nature, mythology, and cultural heritage. Her work is held in national and international collections, including the Grafton Regional Gallery, Byron Shire Council, and esteemed institutions in China and South Korea.
Susanne’s ceramics have been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Australia and abroad, including Artisans in the Garden at Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, the Clunes Ceramic Art Award, and the Siliceous Award for Ceramic Excellence presented by Ceramic Arts Queensland. She has also participated in international art fairs in Amsterdam, Milan, Brussels, and Stockholm, and was a featured artist in prominent publications such as Ceramics Today, Ceramic Art & Perception, and Craft Arts International.
A passionate global explorer of clay and culture, Susanne has completed artist residencies in Japan, South Korea, and multiple cities across China, including Jingdezhen—the historical heart of porcelain. Her ongoing commitment to learning is grounded in formal education, with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Southern Cross University and a Diploma of Ceramics from TAFE NSW, as well as studies in archaeology and social science.
Alongside her artistic practice, Susanne is committed to community and humanitarian causes, regularly donating works to support both local initiatives and international human rights organisations.
